But one petrifying look at the trailer,and I know this movie is set to redefine the boundaries of horror and become a classic.
Horror fans rejoice for the heartbeat stopping, goose-bumps forming, gut-wrenching and eye-ball popping latest scary movie from Sony Pictures Releasing is peeping over your shoulder.
Any follower of horror cinema, especially of the ‘80s, will leap with joy at this.
Evil Dead—with the poster tagline “the most terrifying film you will ever experience”—will soon frighten the living daylights out of you.
Based on and a remake of the 1981 cult classic of the same name, it follows the story of five twenty-something friends that become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead. Unwittingly they summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods who “possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival”.
The film sets out to re-invent the horror/supernatural genre with terrifying spooky sequences, and is sure to scare the pants off its audiences.
Co-written and co-produced by the acclaimed film-maker of the original—Sam Raimi—the film stars Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Lou Taylor Pucci, Jessica Lucas, and Australia’s own Elizabeth Blackmore.
The film is scheduled for release in Australian cinemas on May 2.
