Audiences of animated family comedy rejoice: Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2, the sequel to Sony Pictures Animation’s 2009 hit comedy, is soon coming to the big screen.
The movie is based on the children’s book of the same name by author Judi Barrett.
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs took audiences into the world of ambitious inventor Flint Lockwood, a genius who invented a machine that made food rain from the sky.
This sequel sees him and his friends return to their original town to save the universe when his machine turns evil.
Inventor Flint Lockwood’s genius is finally being recognised and he’s invited by his idol Chester V to join The Live Corp Company, where the best and brightest inventors in the world create technologies for the betterment of mankind, the film’s publicity promises.
The story continues to reflect on Flint’s dream to be acknowledged as a great inventor, but everything changes when he discovers that his machine – which turns water into food – is still operating and is now creating food-animal hybrids – “foodimals”.
With the fate of humanity resting on his shoulders, Chester sends Flint and his friends on a dangerously delicious mission, battling hungry tacodiles, shrimpanzees, apple pie-thons, double bacon cheespiders and other food creatures to save the world – again.
Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2 features the voices of Bill Hader, Anna Faris, James Caan, Will Forte, Kristen Schaal, Terry Crews, Andy Samberg, Neil Patrick Harris, and Benjamin Bratt.
The film will be released in Australian cinemas on November 28, 2013. In the meantime, beware of fruit – it isn’t always good for you.
