I have made my New Year’s resolutions early. Among my desires to get fit and quit my debilitating chocolate addiction, I also want to cut down the hours of crappy television I watch.
My New Year’s resolution starts now.
Goodbye Neighbours, Snog Marry Avoid and the countless reruns of CSI.
Here’s my chance to ditch the couch, venture outside and enjoy the summer sunshine.
Moonlight Cinema is a great way to kick-start this resolution. In Sydney, moviegoers spill out onto the lawns of Centennial Park for a night of open air cinema and picnic under the stars.
The 2012/2013 Moonlight Cinema program features the latest cinema releases, preview screenings and cult classics.
Sydney’s opening night will showcase Dustin Hoffman’s directorial debut, the comedy-drama film Quartet.
Highlights of the season include Hitchcock, This Is 40, Tarantino’s Django Unchained and the less bloodthirsty family-friendly animation Rise of the Guardians.
There’s beloved classics like The Breakfast Club and The Rocky Horror Picture Show as well as a Grease Sing-A-Long.
Sydney’s Moonlight Cinema season runs from December 13 to March 31.
So swap the couch for a picnic rug and enjoy a night of film under the stars.
